Stadia, the game streaming service from Google, is gearing up for a November 2019 release and now we know that your Stadia Pro subscription will get you access to one free game a month.
The news came during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” with Director of Product Andrey Doronichev answering questions about the service.
Gamers with a Stadia Pro plan will get one free game a month
Google Stadia Pro subscribers will get one free a month that will be theirs to keep. Not too much information has been given about what games to expect in the free offerings, but Doronichev did say that Destiny 2 will be the first free game available when the service launches in November.
Doronicheve always wanted to make it very clear that Google and Stadia are not trying to be the “Netflix of games” and that you should look at its free offerings as something akin to Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus.
In addition to a free game each month, Pro subscribers get “4K/HDR streaming, 5.1 sound, [and] exclusive discounts” for $10 a month.
It will be interesting to see how Stadia does when it launches, as game streaming is still a relatively newer concept (at this level). All I know is that I love free games and it’s good to see Google adopting a similar plan as Microsoft and Sony.
