Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold membership gives you the option to play games online, but in addition to that, it also lets you download some free games each month. July is no different, with four games being available to those gamers who subscribe to the $60-a-year service or members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
This month has a decent selection of games with the platformer title Inside (from the people that brought us Limbo) leading the way. Check out all the games below.

Inside will be available for the entirety of the month, with the other three titles being staggered in availability. The other games include Big Crown Showdown, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Meet the Robinsons.
More about the free Xbox Games with Gold:
- Inside (July 1-31) – A stylish platformer that follows the classic Limbo, Inside deserves to be played by anyone with a pulse. It’s free, you have no excuses.
- Big Crown Showdown (July 16-Aug 15) – Honestly, I’m not really sure what this is, but it is a multiplayer party game that allows for couch-op so it’s not all bad.
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (July 1-15) – A classic 2D platformer that is technically for the Xbox 360, but can be played thanks to backward compatibility, this is another must play.
- Meet the Robinsons (July 16-31) – Another 360 game, this is a Disney-inspired 3D platformer that doesn’t look great if we’re being honest, but hey, free is free.
Remember, to continue to enjoy these games, you must have an active Xbox Live or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
