Just announced, French studio CCCP will be collaborating with electronic composer Rémi Gallego – better known as The Algorithm – on tactical RPG The Last Spell, coming to PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Check out the announcement trailer below and make sure your sound is on because you won’t want to miss this soundtrack.
The Last Spell is a roguelite TRPG with a great soundtrack
The Last Spell will be a roguelite TRPG, so you’ll have a procedurally generated party and world where you’ll fight night after night trying to seal magic away completely to stop the onslaught of the deadly, life-corrupting Mist.
The Last Spell promises, “class-less characters [that] have a high degree of customizability — weapons determine their abilities, and each hero can equip two instruments of death.” Further, each boss you defeat gives you permanent benefits, so even if you fail this attempt (and it sounds like you will), you’ll be better prepared for your next effort.
I don’t know about you, but I’d play a game for any one of those reasons – vibrant pixel art, deep tactical strategy, roguelite elements, and a killer soundtrack by an artist I love – so all of them in the same package sounds amazing.
Again, watch for The Last Spell sometime in 2020 on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. If you don’t want to forget about it, you can wishlist it on Steam now. You can find the rest of CCCP’s games here and you can stream The Algorithm on Spotify here.
