When Apple introduced the iPhone, it changed the way we continue to use our cell phones. A few years back, PaxLabs Inc. did something similar in the world of vaporizers when they released the Pax portable vape. Basically, it completely changed the game and made other manufacturers take note. Fastword a bit, and the newest iteration, the Pax 3, continues to impress.

Not only is the Pax one of the smallest portable vaporizers on the market but also one of the most technologically advanced devices available. Now fast forward to today and PaxLabs Inc. continues to be a leader in innovation. We got our hands on their latest vaporizer the Pax 3 and you can check out how much we loved it, but if you’d like to read some interesting tips and tricks to fully enjoy and get the most out of your Pax 3 you may want to continue reading.

Start low and “finish high”

Since the Pax 3 is a conduction style vaporizer, it’s best to finish your entire contents in one session. That being said, the best way to do this is to start your session at the lowest setting and slowly work your way up to the higher setting, indicated by the four lights on the unit. By starting at the lowest setting, you’ll get all the flavor that you may miss out at with the higher temperatures. Then, as you increase the heat, you’ll finish off with larger clouds, essentially hitting the entire heat spectrum during your session.

Half or full – you decide

Because of the way the Pax 3 heats your flower, you’ll get better results by fully packing the oven. Due to the large oven size, you can start to really consume your buds fast especially if it’s just you vaping. A good way to conserve your dry herbs is to obviously use less of them. If you’ve purchased the more expensive Pax package, you’ll get the half oven lid that helps a lot. But if you picked just the dry herb package, you can still grab one from VapeWorld.

Trust me, you’ll thank me later when you still have flowers left at the end of the day. If the oven lid is not available to you, there is a DIY way on the web in which they cut out a pipe screen to fit the oven to help heat from all angles.

Grind it fine and keep it tight

When I mean fine and tight, I’m referring to the way you should be packing your flower. For starters, the Pax 3 oven works best with fine ground herbs. The Pax 3 also loves your flower to be as dry as possible. So why not just let a nug sit out for a few minutes before grinding it, let it marinate in that sweet O2. Now that once you achieved an almost powder-like consistency, you want to pack it tight in the oven so it can evenly flow through. If you aren’t getting big clouds of vapor, there’s a pretty good chance you aren’t doing these steps correctly, so keep that in mind.

Keeping it clean

Most vaporizers are going to require so kind of cleaning to keep them working like a finely oiled machine and the Pax 3 is no different. Because the Pax 3 is so user-friendly, most people tend to forget to clean it until it is pretty bad. I’ve seen a few of my friends guilty of these and always recommend keeping them clean for the best experience possible.

Since the Pax 3 has a small air path, it can start to gook up and can restrict, which in turn will cause more resistance and smaller amounts of vapor. To keep your Pax 3 clean, simply apply alcohol to a pipe cleaner stick and run it through the pathway every three or four sessions.

Choosing the right mouthpiece

The Pax 3 comes with two options for mouthpieces, one is a flat recessed shape and the other is a more traditional style similar to the original Pax mouthpiece. Unlike the original one, however, this newer version is pretty subpar, to be honest. Whenever the mouthpiece gets hot it can start to feel like your lips are on fire. I personally like the flat recessed version and although it looks awkward, I feel it works best and should be the go-to mouthpiece.

I hope some of these tips and tricks will help you continue to have many years of great vaping experiences with your Pax 3 vaporizer. One thing that I’ve learned through these years of vaping is there is no perfect method, and a lot comes down to personal preference, but these basic tips should be standard for most consumers.
