Could you imagine spending $150 for an iPhone 6 case? Well, they’re out there, and this one from Vesel is worth every penny.
iPhone cases – there’s literally a million of them. But out of all the ones available out there, there’s only a few that I could see myself slapping on my phone. It has to be thin, simple, and something that won’t make me look like a total ass. Still, with all these requirements in mind, there’s still a lot to choose from.
But why is it so important to protect my iPhone in the first place? Well, for starters, the aluminum finish on the iPhone 6 make it prone to drops due to its slippery surface. So it only makes sense to give the phone some sort of extra grip, which is where a solid case comes into the picture.
I’ve had my fill of a variety of different cases for the iPhone, so when Vesel sent me a Wood Series case for my iPhone 6s, I didn’t really know what to expect, other than a iPhone case. However, what I received was something that totally blew me away.
The model I received was made entirely out of aluminum with a silver finish, and natural oak wood. Now, this isn’t your normal iPhone case, I would technically call it a bumper case because it doesn’t have a surface that protects the backend of the phone. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it showcases the iPhone’s aluminum finish, and the bumper gives it plenty of space so it doesn’t get scratched on any surface.

When it comes to its design, this case is sexy as hell. I haven’t seen any other iPhone case on the market that looks this good. Vesel simply puts themselves in a league of their own with this bad boy. It’s almost to the point where I think every iPhone should have these installed, not because of the protection, but for the design and wow factor. With the case in place, it’s certainly almost a privilege to whip out my phone.
Another interesting feature of this case is its unique four-piece construction, which is all held together by small hex screws. This means installing the case on your phone requires some assembly, but nothing out of the ordinary. In order to house the case on your phone, the top or bottom of the case must be removed, and from there the phone slides in. All that’s left to do is just screw the top or bottom piece back together. Vesel even includes a nifty little screw driver to help you get all set up.
Since the case is made from natural wood and aluminum, there’s concerns on how long this case will last. Luckily, Denis Vesel, founder of Vesel, described some of the quality control they have in place:
Wood is natural and live material and will always breath, shrink and expand in different environments hmm… What now? If we want the greatest quality we will have to hand finish every single one of them. And we did. We hand finish, test and check every single case, before we package it and ship it all over the world to our customer.
I can see how that holds true because it looks like there’s a lot of TLC in these cases.
After rocking the case on my phone for a week, I have to say, this is by far one of the best iPhone cases I’ve ever seen. It’s so good, I’ve had friends compliment me on it. Ask yourself this question, when’s the last time someone complimented you on your iPhone case?
Apart from the silver/oak combination, Vesel also offers these in three other models: gray/walnut, silver/walnut and gray/oak. Each will run you just under $150 (Amazon has them for $129), which seems like a lot of money. It’s like anything else though — many people will happily pay a little more money for a premium product that sets them apart from the crowd.
