Coming out as a sequel to Alto’s Adventure, an endless running game that placed players in a snowy world, shredding the pow and collecting llamas, Alto’s Odyssey prefers the warmer weather and finds players carving up some smooth sand on their board.
Alto’s Odyssey was originally released on iOS for $5, but now Android users get their chance at the game without having to pay a dime. There is a trade-off, however, as Android users will be required to watch an ad every time the die. Honestly, it does take away from the game a bit, as it pulls you out of this simple, gorgeous world that the team, Team Alto, has created.
It’s not game-breaking, of course, and fans of endless runners and just those that can appreciate some chill ambiance and art are sure to power through a couple lame ads every now and then. There is also a way to stop in-game adds, but, of course, it will cost real money ($1.99).
If you’re looking for a chill game for your Android (or iPhone), Alto’s Odyssey comes highly recommended. Oh, and did we mention it won an Apple Design Award?
You can download it here for your Android, or here for iOS.
