Amazon is bringing Whole Foods grocery deliveries to 10 more U.S. cities, the company announced on Wednesday. The service is now available in Charlotte, North Carolina; Las Vegas; Memphis, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; New Orleans; Oklahoma City; Phoenix; Raleigh, North Carolina; Seattle and Tucson, Arizona. In total, 38 Whole Foods stores now offer a delivery service.
Delivery zones in existing cities are also expanding, including in New York, Los Angeles, and the Dallas-Forth Worth area.
Back in August, Amazon and Whole Foods Market announced the launch of grocery pickup for Amazon Prime members beginning in Sacramento, California, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. That service is expected to launch elsewhere before the end of the year.
Through the pickup service, members can now shop Whole Foods Market’s selection of fresh and organic produce, bakery, dairy, meat and seafood, floral, and everyday staples and pick up their order in as little as 30 minutes.
To get started, all you have to do is place your order using the Prime Now app and choose a pickup option. You can select free pickup in as little as an hour on orders of $35, or in 30 minutes for $4.99. After arriving at the Whole Foods Market store, you’ll find a reserved pickup spot and a Prime Now shopper will place groceries into your car within minutes.
Just days ago, Amazon confirmed plans to open at least one Amazon Go concept store in New York City.
The first Amazon Go store opened earlier this year in Seattle, Washington after months of testing by Amazon employees. Hailed as the grocery store of the future, the Amazon Go locations let customers use their phones to make purchases. All you have to do is move items from the shelves to your bag. From there, Amazon uses “Walk Out” technology to charge you for the items in your bag as you exit the store.
Whole Foods Market delivery is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. You can learn more about grocery delivery on the Prime Now website. Customers can also find out if delivery is available in their area by saying, “Alexa, shop Whole Foods.”
