Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 update might bring a smart new feature that helps your iPhone save battery life using AI, according to a report from Bloomberg.
This new battery-saving tool would learn how you use your phone and adjust power settings to make your battery last longer.
For example, if it notices that you use certain apps more than others, it could reduce how much power is given to less-used apps or background features.
The AI feature works by collecting data over time about your phone habits.
It then uses that data to predict when it should limit power to certain apps or features, helping your phone run more efficiently without needing constant manual adjustments.
This is similar to what Google has been doing since 2018 with its “Adaptive Battery” feature on Android phones.
That system tracks app usage and decides which apps can run in the background and which should be paused to save battery.
Along with the AI battery tool, iOS 19 may also add a new lock screen feature that shows how long it will take to fully charge your iPhone. This gives users a clearer idea of when their phone will be ready to go.
Bloomberg also suggests that Apple could launch this new AI-powered battery feature with the iPhone 17, which is rumored to be the thinnest iPhone ever. (Via: The Verge)
Because a slimmer phone usually means a smaller battery, managing power use smartly will be more important than ever.
However, the good news is that this AI battery-saving tool won’t be limited to just the iPhone 17, as it will be available on all iPhones that get the iOS 19 update.
Finally, iOS 19 is also said to come with a fresh new design, giving the iPhone’s software a more modern look.
Apple is expected to show off the update at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with a full release to the public likely coming in September.
