Apple reportedly wants to revamp its Health app, which tracks health metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen level, etc., with a new AI-powered health coaching feature to offer personalized health recommendations to improve health, reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

This new tool, reportedly referred to as Project Mulberry or Health+ among the employees, will collect data from Apple devices, e.g., Apple Watch monitoring your heart rate, and provide healthcare recommendations based on the results.

For example, if someone is showing signs of high blood pressure, under the umbrella of this new feature, they will receive the suggestion to stay off certain foods.

In his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman reveals that Project Mulberry is nothing short of a dream project for Apple.

Apparently, the development is going full steam ahead with plans to drop this new AI-powered tool as soon as iOS 19.4, slated for Summer 2026.

Gurman dives even deeper into the development of this project, revealing that Apple is working with a team of in-house doctors and plans to bring more from different medical fields simply to create instructional video content.

Reportedly, Apple is actively looking for a celebrity doctor to become the face of these videos.

Apple, with its array of health features, usually stays atop of its competition. However, food tracking is an important feature it lacks, and in competition with companies like MyFitnessPal and startup Noom, Apple falls short, notes Gurman.

The new Health app revamp will eradicate this limitation by working as sort of a personal trainer with the iPhone camera in the play to record the user’s workouts—ultimately suggesting areas of improvement while staying connected to Apple’s existing Fitness+ platform at the same time.

Apple’s still in jeopardy with AI

Apple Watch is the company’s official health tracker, and the company is leagues ahead of the competition when it comes to features and accuracy—the caveat is the AI.

The company is still dealing with AI, and by dealing, we mean wrestling to roll out Apple Intelligence features it already promised to its consumers.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 series last September. The rollout of Apple Intelligence features was, however, delayed, and it’s yet to meet the company’s usual standard.

Currently, Apple Intelligence has a handful of features like summarizing notifications, smart replies for texts, and cleaning up photos, but it’s still lagging.

However, the most notable AI integration with Siri to make Apple’s assistant a true AI assistant has yet to materialize.

Apple recently pushed back its plans to make Siri smarter, which is now expected sometime next year.

Either way, Apple will soon hold its Worldwide Developer Conference on June 9. It’s the company’s annual event, where it shows off some cool upcoming features for its software platforms—Apple is sure to show off its future AI plans here.
