Just weeks ago, Apple rolled out the stable version of iOS 18.1 with a host of Apple Intelligence features, including a revamped Siri, Mail app, an improved Photos app, writing tools, and more.
Now, a new report has revealed that Apple is planning to roll out the stable version of iOS 18.2 a bit earlier than usual.
In this weekend’s Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman revealed that Apple will release iOS 18.2 a bit earlier than usual, the week of December 2nd.
In addition, he has outlined a few more details on the future timeline of upcoming Apple Intelligence features.
Apple moves up the iOS 18.2 launch a week to speed up Apple Intelligence feature rollout
With only the iOS 8.2 developer beta available, fans eagerly await the new Apple Intelligence features, especially after they got their first taste of it with the iOS 18.1.
Fortunately, journalist Mark Gurman is bringing good news in his latest newsletter. He wrote,
The iOS 18.2 operating system update, which includes major improvements to Apple Intelligence […], is likely to arrive on the earlier side of December, I’m told. How early? The week of Dec. 2, barring any unexpected delays.
If Gurman is accurate, Apple seems to be pushing up its timeline a bit to introduce more Apple Intelligence features to its loyal customers.
The next wave of Apple Intelligence features will include more AI features, including Genmoji and ChatGPT integration.
About the timeline, Apple usually rolls out the second version of its latest iOS (iOS X.2) around the second week of December.
For example, Apple rolled out iOS 17.2 on December 11th and iOS 16.2 on December 13th.
The usual forecast is for some time in the second week of December. Instead, the next series of Apple Intelligence features is set to arrive a week earlier.
Gurman further stated that the next major Apple Intelligence update will be iOS 18.4, which will launch in April and is expected to bring updates to Siri.
However, Apple usually trolls out iOS X.4 updates in March, so the fourth update will come a bit later than usual, which isn’t a big concern. But we do hope that Apple makes the wait worthwhile.
What do you think about Apple rolling out iOS 18.2 early? Are you excited to try more Apple Intelligence features? Tell us your thoughts below in the comments, or via our Twitter or Facebook.

I am looking forward to the update of Apple Intelligence. After the release of iOS 18.2, I hope I won’t need to use MagFone iOS System Recovery to downgrade iOS again.
