Following a delay of Battlefield V, details have been a bit scarce when it comes to details on the anticipated battle royale mode.
Called Firestorm, 16 teams of four will take to a sandbox of destructible buildings and various weapons and vehicles while fighting tooth-and-nail to be the last squad standing. A firestorm (heh) will continue to encroach on players, driving the remaining teams closer and closer. From the trailer, it doesn’t sound like any options for solos or duos will be available, which has become somewhat of a staple in battle royale titles.
The trailer gives a good glimpse of what to expect from the release, with looks at Tides of War which promises to “keep you and your squad playing well into the future.” There is also a look at Grand Operations, which is an expanded version of the previous Operations mode, that spans four in-game days and multiple modes. Squads should play a bigger role in this title, as well. Hopefully, we’ll see improved ways to communicate with your squads when not in a party with friends, as well.
Also highlighted is improved building destruction, which looks ridiculously impressive and there will be a new fortification system that will actually allow players to build strategic items. Barriers, foxholes, bridges, and walls are all present in the video.
Check out the full video above. Battlefield V will release on November 20, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
