The Nintendo Direct event was chockfull of huge news, with Animal Crossing finally announced for Nintendo Switch, as well as lots of Final Fantasy for Switch news, but something else that might have flown under the radar for some was the announcement of city-building title Cities: Skylines being released on the Nintendo eShop.

As someone who loves a good city-building and management title, console versions of these games are hard to come by, but our savior Nintendo comes to the rescue with the Switch edition of the popular game. Porting a PC title like this was surely a gargantuan task, but Cities: Skylines for the Switch will include a completely revamped UI to make gaming on the console a breeze (hopefully).

Check out the official trailer for the Switch version below:

Alongside a new UI, Cities: Skylines will include two of the most popular expansions to the title, both After Dark and Snowfall DLCs. The Switch Pro controller will work with the games and there is even a Nintendo-exclusive feature coming to the title: Rumble. When placing service buildings like police stations and hospitals, the game will indicate effective areas for placement with a slight rumble to the controller when hovering over the most effective zones.

While Cities: Skylines for Steam typically runs $29.99, the Nintendo Switch version will set you back $39.99 but don’t forget, you get two expansions for that price, as well. Those expansions on Steam each run close to $14.99 each, so there is definitely added value with the price tag.
