Square Enix just teased the Final Fantasy VII remake again and I’m so ready
“I am ready to get hurt again.” – Michael Scott – Josiah Motley
Final Fantasy VII wasn’t my first experience with RPGs or the world of Final Fantasy, but to this day it is still one of my fondest gaming memories from my childhood.
There has been a complete remake of the title in the works for quite a bit now, and while we still don’t have a freakin’ release date, Square Enix released a new teaser trailer during Sony’s State of Play presentation on Thursday, and my word, it looks amazing.

They’re really dragging this out, huh?
Very little is known about the title still, but the character models all look fantastic and the more action-oriented combat looks like it will feel right at home with the updated game. I loved the action combat in Final Fantasy XV and if the developers can nail that same style in this remake, we’re in for a treat.
There is still no release date, sadly, but producer Yoshinori Kitase states in a blog post, “We are preparing to release more official information in June, but we wanted to try something new here on State of Play by showing you this special trailer as a taste of what’s to come.”
Come off that release date, Square, I’m ready to have my heart broken again.
