To say I’m excited about the release of Stranger Things 3 tomorrow is an understatement. It’s also safe to say that companies know that plenty of people feel the way I do and are doing whatever they can to ride that hype train for as long as possible.
No stranger to pop-culture with collabs with Marvel and John Wick, Epic Games has started teasing a Stranger Things collaboration with portals to the Upside Down popping up in one section of the Fortnite map.
Stranger Things x Fortnite
If you head to Mega Mall during a round of Fortnite and do a bit of exploring you’ll notice some that the area is slowly being taken over by portals that look similar to those found in the show. Unlike the ones in the show, however, these do not take you to the Upside Down, but instead, transports you to a different part of the mall.
Now, this on its own really isn’t that big of a deal, but considering the Epic Games typically goes all-in on its collabs, there is a good chance we’ll see more from this in the coming days.
As someone who as all but stopped playing the games, these events definitely help bring back players, if only for a limited time. Now, again, someone bring me some dang waffles.
What do you think? Plan on jumping in to a couple rounds of Fortnite to check out the new Stranger Things-inspired portals? Let us know down below in the comments or carry the discussion over to our Twitter or Facebook.
