Fighting, stealth, and cacti are on the menu this month.

Another month, another batch of free games for those who own an Xbox One or Xbox 360 and have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. It feels like this summer has been a bit weak for video games, and the offerings this month for the Microsoft consoles seems to solidify that.
While June saw titles like LEGO Indiana Jones 2 and the Smite Gold Bundle ($99, usually), July does not see anything quite so exciting. Rewind an additional month back to may, and Xbox owners with Xbox Live Gold could download the great Metal Gear Solid V for the wonderful price of free. So, what does July have to offer? Check it out below (from BGR):
- Assault Android Cactus ($14.99 ERP): July 1 to 31 on Xbox One
- Death Squared ($14.99 ERP): July 16 to August 15 on Xbox One
- Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown ($14.99 ERP): July 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction ($19.99 ERP): July 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
Don’t forget that Xbox One gamers can still download and play both of the titles listed for Xbox 360, as they are both backward compatible. If you’re a fighting game fan, Virtua Fighter 5 will definitely be a great download for you, and the best offering of the free games this month, as far as I’m concerned.

Not the greatest month, by any means, but free is free.
