Apple is gearing up for two major product releases: the M4 MacBook Air and a new iPad Air.

The Cupertino giant accidentally confirmed the existence of the M4 MacBook Air, with rumors suggesting a release this month.

A recent Bloomberg report also highlights that the iPad Air is in a similar position, suggesting that both devices could arrive soon.

New MacBook Air and iPad models are imminent

The M4 MacBook Air is expected to be announced imminently, though no precise release date has been confirmed. Industry speculation suggests the new model could be unveiled within the coming days.

Meanwhile, the launch timeline for the updated iPad Air remains unclear, but reports indicate that Apple might introduce an upgraded entry-level iPad alongside the Air lineup.

These expectations align with previous rumors that both the MacBook Air and iPad Air would see refreshes in early 2025.

The upcoming MacBook Air refresh will likely focus primarily on internal hardware improvements rather than significant design changes. Similar to the current lineup, the laptop will continue to be available in two sizes.

The most significant upgrade is expected to be the integration of Apple’s new base-level M4 chip, offering improved efficiency and performance. However, the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips will remain exclusive to the MacBook Pro models.

Another anticipated enhancement is an upgraded ultra-wide webcam, which has been referenced in macOS code leaks.

Similarly, the new iPad Air is expected to receive a spec-based upgrade rather than a complete redesign.

Unlike the MacBook Air, however, it is rumored that the M3 chip will be adopted rather than the M4.

Recent product leaks suggest that the 13-inch version of the iPad Air will feature the M3, preserving the M4 for Apple’s high-end iPad Pro lineup.

However, unlike the new M4 MacBook Air models this week’s release window, the iPads don’t have a clear rumored launch timeline.
