Disney might be in the process of pulling all its Marvel content, but that doesn’t mean Netflix is going out without a fight. There’s another 44 original shows and movies coming to the streaming service along with a huge list of third-party stuff to fill your existential dread with.

The darker reboot of Sabrina, the Teenage WitchChilling Adventures of Sabrina is back for Season 2 on April 5, bringing all the demon-worshipping, spell-casting teenage angst you can stomach. I mean apart from magic being real, is that any different from anyone’s formative years?

Then, it’s Bear Grylls’ turn to be turned into an interactive adventure on the 10th, with You vs. Wild. Will you be asked to drink pee in the name of survival? Probably, which should make for riveting watching.

Other shows to look out for on Netflix in April

If you prefer your viewing a little more on the super side, there’s an all-new Ultraman anime coming on the 1st. Why is it always that when aliens come to Earth, we need some kind of super protector?  What if they only came to sell Girl Scout cookies and we killed them just for funsies?

If you like horror, check out The Silence on the 12th. All the requisite elements for a great time are here: Cult – check, weird creatures that hunt by sound only – check, world under attack – check. I wonder if groups keep a chatterbox around, in the same way you’d keep a slow person around if the world was populated with zombies…

With all the great original content coming in April, it’d be easy to overlook the great third party stuff coming to Netflix. Luc Besson’s seminal Fifth Element turns up on the 1st, which will let sci-fi fans multipass their way to a great time. If you think about it, it’s just Captain Planet in space, with Heart being the oft-overlooked titular fifth element. Your powers combined, I am Captain Leeloo, or something like that.

The 25th brings the alternative cut of The Hateful Eight: Extended Version, which should please Tarantino fans if nobody else.

Oh, and go watch Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood before it disappears off Netflix on April 1st.
