Nothing Phone 3 goes full anti-iPhone with its most ridiculous design yet (and we kind of love it)
Step aside, conventional smartphones! Nothing’s Phone 3 is here to shake things up with its $799 flagship, boasting a triple 50MP camera and Glyph Matrix display. It’s a bold move that will either captivate or confound.

Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.
Well folks, Nothing just dropped its latest “iPhone killer” and this time they’re not even trying to hide their Apple-sized chip on their shoulder.
The Nothing Phone 3 launched this week with specs that’ll make any mobile phone fan drool and a design that’ll either make you say “shut up and take my money” or “what in the transparent hell is this?”
Let’s cut to the chase – Nothing’s going all-in on being the anti-Apple with this $799 flagship, and honestly? The rebel approach kind of slaps.
That Camera System Though…
The biggest flex here is the triple 50MP camera setup that looks like it was designed by someone who’s never seen a symmetrical phone before.
We’ve got a main sensor, an ultrawide, and a periscope zoom lens that’s deliberately misaligned because… art?

While Apple’s busy making camera bumps that could double as coffee coasters, Nothing said “hold my beer” and made something that’ll trigger anyone with OCD.
But here’s the thing – that wonky periscope zoom isn’t just for show. It’ll get you 6x optical zoom or up to 60x with AI assistance.
For comparison, that’s like having a telescope in your pocket, assuming you actually need to zoom in on things 60x away (spoiler: you probably don’t).
The Glyph Matrix: Because Regular Notifications Are Too Mainstream
Remember the Nothing Phone 2’s Glyph Interface? Well, they’ve evolved it into something called the “Glyph Matrix” – a circular LED display that’s basically a rave in your pocket.
With 489 individual LEDs, it’s like having a tiny Times Square on the back of your phone. It’ll show everything from caller ID to volume levels, and yes, you can even play rock, paper, scissors with it. Because apparently, that’s what we’ve been missing in our lives.
Under the Hood: Almost Flagship, Totally Fine
Powering this beast is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 chip. Is it the absolute top-tier processor? Nah. Will you notice while doomscrolling Twitter? Also nah.
Unless you’re trying to render 8K video while playing Genshin Impact with 100 Chrome tabs open, you’re probably good.

The Design: Love It or Hate It (There Is No In-Between)
Nothing’s gone full brutalist with the Phone 3’s design. It’s all angles and blocks, like if a Cyberpunk 2077 prop had a baby with a Dieter Rams sketch.
The transparent back panel now looks more industrial than ever, and honestly? It’s refreshing to see a phone that doesn’t look like it came out of Apple’s “rounded rectangle” playbook.
Should You Buy It?
If you’re tired of phones that look like they were designed by algorithms and want something that’ll make people do a double-take, the Nothing Phone 3 might be your jam.
At $799, it’s positioned to compete with the big boys while maintaining its “we’re not like other phones” vibe.
Pre-orders start July 4th (nothing says independence like buying a phone that gives the middle finger to conventional design), with full availability from July 15th. You can grab one from Nothing’s website or selected retailers.
Is it perfect? Nah. Is it interesting? Hell yes. And in a world of increasingly samey smartphones, maybe that’s exactly what we need.
Just don’t blame us when people ask if your phone’s broken because of that misaligned camera. That’s apparently “the look” now.
Nothing Phone 3 isn’t for everyone, but it’s a breath of fresh air in a sea of boring rectangles. If you want something different that still nails the basics, this one’s worth a look.
- Triple 50MP cameras, rare periscope zoom
- Fun glyph matrix, creative potential
- Snapdragon 8S Gen 4, fast enough
- Playful, visually distinct design
