Vape pens are becoming pretty common these days, and rightfully so. They’re cheap, low maintenance, and it allows folks to smoke cannabis anywhere without feeling like a criminal. And for someone looking to make the jump into oils, it’s not really a huge investment. An entry level pen can cost anywhere $10-$20, but in most cases, it’s stripped away from features and usually only offer one level of temperature or amperage.
Enter the Ooze Duplex, makers of the popular Ooze Pen. It’s like the Cadillac of vape pens, but with more. On top of being able to vape oils from a cartridge, this puppy doubles as a vape for wax and concentrates. And by the way, you get this all for just $50. The device rocks four temperature settings (3.4V, 3.6V, 3.8V, 4.0V) and even comes equipped with a 15-second preheat mode feature, which again, isn’t something you would typically find in this price range. And the best part? It’s small and discreet.

Using the Ooze Duplex is fairly simple. If you know how to push a button, then you’ll know how to use this vape. Powering up the device just takes 5 quick presses of the power button, and from there all you have to do is just press and hold the power button to start vaping. If you’re looking to vape concentrates, you’ll have to attach the special coil adapter and the same goes for the cartridge adapter if you’re using oils. The package comes with an extra spare cartridge if you prefer to fill them yourself, but you can always use your own.

When it comes to design, think of every vape you have ever seen – the Ooze Duplex looks like none of them, and in a good way. It kinda looks similar to the detonator of an improved explosive device. It has this magnetic plate that comes off the face, and when removed, you’ll see the physical power button and indicators for the different heat settings. Truthfully, it took me a while to figure out the magnetic plate could be removed, but after reading the instructions, I realized the plate could be removed. Overall though, I’m a huge fan of its design. There’s a really Bond-esk feel about it.

A vape is only good at how it performs, and this little sucker does it insanely well, especially for its size. There’re no complaints from my end here. The device offers smooth hits, whichever range you prefer. If you’re a power hog and want lung-busting hits, set it on high. If you prefer a cool mellow drag, set it on the lowest option. There’s a level for everyone and it’s great that a vape this size offers it.
Point blank, if you want something a little more than your ordinary vape pen, the Ooze Duplex is a solid choice, and it’s moderately affordable. But it comes at a bargain with all the features it’s packing. There’s something really cool about how it impresses all your other friends who have nice vape pens. There’s something even cooler when they’re always asking to use yours instead.
