As I’ve discussed before, the market for a pen style dry herb vaporizer at a moderate price point is growing by the day. Despite this, there hasn’t really been a company that’s knocked it out of the park with a reliable, durable vape for less than $100.

So, who would’ve guessed that the vaporizer with the cartoon bunny mascot would be the one that finally did?

First impressions of the Stoner Joe

The Stoner Joe may be able to fit in the palm of your hand, but it feels anything but fragile. Its poly-plastic casing is coated in a smooth rubber to ensure a firm grip, and the 2200 mAh Lithium-ion battery inside adds a nice weight to it. It’s also the only vaporizer you’ll find with a Rastafarian bunny rabbit adorning it, making the Stoner Joe the *perfect* vaporizer to give the kids this holiday season. I’m kidding. Maybe.

Design

Aside from its aesthetically pleasing exterior, the Stoner Joe also contains a number of tiny features that will make you wonder “Why doesn’t every vaporizer manufacturer do this?”

First and foremost, the Stoner Joe comes with a tiny LCD screen that allows the user to see when the vape is heating up and set the temperature to their own preferences. Whereas a lot of handheld vaporizers offer a number of predetermined temperature settings, the Stoner Joe lets the user dial it into any temperature between 300-435 degrees, right down to the exact degree, using its incredibly easy temperature controls.

Performance

Again, simple innovation is the name of the game when it comes to the Stoner Joe. While you’ll find a fairly standard ceramic chamber for your flower inside the vape, the small mesh filter under the mouthpiece is truly a nice touch (even if it sometimes gets clogged). For those looking for a vape that they can enjoy on the go, the Stoner Joe utilizes a convection oven style heater which not only charges to almost any temperature setting in <15 seconds but ensures a quick and even heat every time you use it.

The drawbacks to the Stoner Joe come down to two things: 1) the aforementioned clogging that can sometimes happen because of the filter – which again, still beats the mouthful of vaped flower you’ll get with similar style vapes – and 2) the air vents on either side of the vape, which require the user to pull rather slowly to get the ideal hit each time.

Final thoughts on the Stoner Joe

Don’t let the name and goofy cartoon fool you, the Stoner Joe is the best vaporizer as I’ve tested in the sub-$100 price point. Everything from the design of the box to the vape itself is made with the user’s convenience in mind, and it offers a clean, even heat with each pull.
