Last year, 70-year-old Fort Lauderdale resident Daniel Vallaire suffered a devastating stroke — alone, collapsed in the bathroom, crawling. The man was saved after two long days of suffering and credits Siri for saving his life.

Vallaire credits Siri for his second coming

Vallaire collapsed in the bathroom just days before his 70th birthday.

In a devastating turn of events, he spent the next 48 hours crawling from the bathroom to the living room, looking for help while he was going in and out of consciousness.

Confused, severely dehydrated, unable to do anything, and with no strength left, Vallaire made his last-ditch effort to yell to Siri to call his daughter, Victoria, who moved from Florida to California a week before.

And it worked!

Siri successfully connected the call to his daughter, who communicated the emergency to 911, leading to emergency responders arriving within 10 minutes, saving the man’s life.

In a statement to a local news station, Daniel Vallaire reiterated the accounts of the event—I said, Siri, call Victoria Vallaire, and she did—“If I had a landline, there’s no way I would be able to get to it.”

Vallaire even went as far as saying that if he didn’t have Siri, “he wouldn’t be here.”

After the first responders rescued Vallaire, he was taken to the hospital, where it was found that Vallaire had suffered a stroke caused by an infection in two of his aortic valves.

Broward Health shared Vallaire’s story in December

Last week, Vallaire reunited with the first responders and the medical crew who came to his aid.

Apple’s features, such as Crash Detection, Fall Detection, and Emergency SOS, have played a crucial role in saving lives worldwide, and Siri has joined the lineup.

Siri, Apple’s virtual voice assistant, is available across all Apple’s devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, HomePod, and Apple TV, which can be activated with the simple “Hey Siri” voice command.

Although, more recently, Apple added the ability to simply say “Siri” to activate the virtual voice assistant.
