Dead or Alive 6 gets a confirmed February release date
Now, with less jiggle.
If you’ve been patiently awaiting more news on the upcoming Dead or Alive 6 fighting game, we have good news, there is now an official release date. The game will release on February 15, 2019. The title had previously been announced at E3.
From Koei Tecmo, the Dead or Alive series has had an interesting journey. Along with titles like Virtua Fighter and Tekken, DoA helped shape what we’ve come to expect from 3D fighters. However, many of us could never get around the fact the game was way too obsessed with sexualizing female characters in the games. So much so, that there were titles that had the female fighters from the game wearing swimsuits and playing beach volleyball.
Then there were the other products, like the official Dead or Alive mousepads, featuring popular female characters and “life-sized boobs.”
This seems to be changing, however, with Dead or Alive 6. As you can see from the release date trailer above, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo seem to truly be getting away from the fanservice jiggles that were overly present with past titles.
Now, we just need to hope that the fighting lives up to player expectations. Also included in DoA 6 will be new characters and mechanics (Fatal Rush and Break Gauge) that should hopefully prove to provide a deeper fighting system.
Excited for a new DoA title? Plan on picking this up in February? Let us know down below!
