In something reminiscent to MySpace’s Top 8, Instagram is adding a feature for its Android and iOS app that allows you to share your Stories with a list of approved friends and not every scrub that follows you on the social network.
Called Close Friends, the feature lets you set curate your Stories feed by adding people to the list and selecting it as an option when sharing your Story.
More about the feature
Honestly, it’s pretty straightforward, but some things of note – you can add or remove people at any time and the people on the list will not be notified when you change their status.
That being said, those that make the list will be aware of it when you share a Story with close friends. A badge on the Story notes it and a green ring will accompany their image on the Story tray.
How to access Close Friends
If you want to start setting up your Close Friends list, make sure your Instagram app is upgraded to the latest version. Also, the rollout starts today, so it is possible it will not be available to you right away.
To check, head to your profile, open the side menu, and look for the section labeled – you guessed it – Close Friends. From here, just search out your besties and add them to the list.
What do you think of the feature? Will you use it? Let us know down below in the comments or carry the discussion over to our Twitter or Facebook.
