When the Nintendo Switch first launched, transferring saved files to a new console required you to move all of your user and game data at once. Now, with update 8.0.0, users will be able to pick and choose what they transfer over.
While this might not seem like a big deal, it falls in line with recent rumors that Nintendo is working on releasing two new versions of the popular Switch console. This will give gamers and their households more options when it comes time to upgrade to a new console.
Now, it should be noted that this type of functionality is already available through Nintendo Switch Online, but hey, it is still a nice quality-of-life update.
Also include in update 8.0.0, an updated system for sorting games. While you still will not have full control over how your games are displayed, you can now sort by title, publisher, last time played, and total time played. More control over region selection is also available with the new update, as well as some new user icons from Splatoon 2 and Yoshi’s Crafted World.
Your Switch should automatically push this update, but if it doesn’t simply head to System Settings from the Home menu then select System for update information.
