Carl Pei, the ex-co-founder of OnePlus, started Nothing a few years back with the promise of revolutionizing the Android smartphone market.
The latest Nothing product, the Nothing Phone 2, is about the hit the shelves in less than a week. So the leaks and rumors about the upcoming Nothing Phone are already flooding internet feeds from all over.
However, earlier this week, Pei tweeted one of the biggest changes related to it, knowing that the response would be “nice.”
Enter the Nothing Phone 2’s USB-C cable
Pei tweeted to show off the new USB-C charging cable for the Nothing Phone 2 with a transparent design. He revealed the design of the cable in a series of tweets where he bragged about how “Nice” the new USB-C cable is.
That said, the cable doesn’t look anything groundbreaking from the tweeted image. And from the looks of it, Pei has implemented Nothing’s transparent design language to the USB cable.
A transparent casing houses the metal connector. The Nothing logo is etched on the connector, which is visible due to the transparency of the casing. Lastly, a row of dots is visible, but we are not sure what they represent.
The row of dots may be LED lights, or they could just be normal grooves on the metal, and our imaginations are running wild.

Nothing has a history of being transparent
Meanwhile, if we take a look at Nothing’s history and what they are trying to build, a transparent USB cable makes sense.
Transparency is the brand’s wow factor, and the company implemented it down to the SIM ejector tool on the Nothing Phone 1. And in light of this new cable, we have to say, Nothing Phone 1 came with a pretty boring white cable.
However, it would be great if the new cable is included in the box. While the Phone 1 did come with a cable, Pei didn’t specifically mention whether it will be included this time.
Moreover, the cable is not currently listed on Nothing’s website. The cable also isn’t listed on Nothing’s website.
That said, it would be nice if the new cable is included in the Nothing Phone 2 box. The Phone 1 came with a cable; however, Pei didn’t explicitly mention it.
Nevertheless, all will be revealed on 11th July at the Nothing Phone 2 launch event. We don’t have to wait very long.
