The Oppo Find N5 has set a new benchmark in the foldable smartphone race, claiming the title of the world’s slimmest book-style foldable

As the successor to the Find N3, the Find N5 refines nearly every aspect of its predecessor, from design and durability to display and performance.

Unfortunately, it’s not getting a global release with an European launch off the table, and OnePlus version (potentially supposed to be the OnePlus Open 2) reportedly shelved for this generation.

Oppo Find N5: design

At just 4.21mm thick when unfolded and 8.93mm when folded, the Find N5 outclasses competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (5.6mm/12.1mm).

This ultra-slim profile is achieved through Oppo’s Titanium Flexion Hinge, which is 26% smaller than the Find N3’s hinge while maintaining high rigidity.

The phone’s 3D-printed titanium wing panel and carbon fiber blend help reduce weight to 229 grams.

The Find N5 is also the first foldable with an IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance rating, meaning it can withstand pressurized hot water jets and complete submersion.

The frame is made from 7000-series aluminum, enhancing durability.

The new hinge design also minimizes the display crease, improving the overall visual experience.

Oppo Find N5: specifications

Oppo equips the Find N5 with a dual-LTPO OLED setup, featuring an 8.12-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED main panel with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 9.9:9 aspect ratio, 2,100 nits peak brightness.

It also has a 6.62-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED cover display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 20.7:9 aspect ratio, and 2,450 nits peak brightness.

Both displays support the Oppo Pen stylus (sold separately), making the device a productivity-friendly option.

Developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, the Find N5 features a triple-camera system.

It has a 50MP primary sensor (LYT-700) with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto (Samsung JN5) with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens with autofocus. It also has an 8MP snapper for selfies.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite, the Find N5 uses a binned version with one fewer performance core for optimized efficiency. The phone comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

A 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery fuels the device, supporting 80W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging.

The Find N5 runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15  out of the box. Oppo promises four years of major OS releases and six years of security patches.

Oppo Find N5: pricing

The Oppo Find N5 launches on February 28. It is available in Cosmic Black, Misty White, and China-exclusive Dusk Purple for SGD 2,499 (around $1,880).

Pre-orders are now open. It is currently available in Singapore and China, with other Asian markets likely to follow.

Oppo has confirmed that the Find N5 foldable will not launch in Europe despite calling its release “global.”

Meanwhile, OnePlus has officially announced that it will not release a foldable device in 2025, meaning the OnePlus Open 2 isn’t coming.

We have the Oppo Find N5 at the moment, so stay tuned for an in-depth review.
