Recently, Sony officially announced the launch of PlayStation Productions, a studio that would focus on bringing the company’s iconic gaming series and characters to life.
While there is plenty of great source material from the likes of PlayStation, one series that shines brightly in my mind, and the mind of many others, is the Twisted Metal (also, why haven’t we seen a reboot of this?). The vehicular battle cars game oozed personality and there was a story there (one I don’t remember) so a series adaptation honestly sounds really cool.
What to know about the Twisted Metal TV series
The show was first announced during an investor presentation. “We have a TV show we just agreed to get underway that will be developed from the IP on PlayStation, it’s called Twisted Metal,” states Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
Ok, I feel like my H2 above is a bit deceiving because we honestly don’t know anything else about the series at this time. The last Twisted Metal game came out back in 2012 and even then there were talks of taking the IP to television or film.
It only took an additional 7 years to get a somewhat official announcement, and honestly, I’ll take it. Also, if you ain’t repping Spectre, then what are you doing with your life?
