The Google Pixel 9a is expected to launch in March 2025 and has been the subject of recent leaks. The latest one includes real-world images of a prototype device.

These pictures provide insights into the Pixel 9a’s design, hardware, and possible specifications.

These images popped up on X/Twitter revealing what appears to be a Pixel 9a prototype marked as an Engineering Validation Test (EVT) device.

These prototypes often feature unique patterns and logos to help Google trace potential leaks.

The device’s model number, GTF7P, was also found in IMEI databases by folks over at Android Authority, confirming it as a Google product.

However, whether this represents the commercial Pixel 9a model number or just the prototype version is unclear.

Google Pixel 9a design revealed in real-world leaked photos

The leaked images show significant design differences compared to the Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9a features a pill-shaped camera module instead of the flagship Pixel’s signature visor bar.

Moreover, it will have flat edges with rounded corners, a center-mounted punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, and no curved edges to provide a clean, modern look.

These details align with previous leaks, suggesting design rumors were true.

Leaks indicate that the Pixel 9a will feature competitive mid-range specifications. It will flaunt a 6.3-inch Actua display.

It will draw power from the Tensor G4 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options.

Under the hood, it will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired and 7.5W wireless charging support. For cameras, it will feature a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens at the rear.

This latest leak confirms that the Pixel 9a will be a well-rounded, affordable device with mid-range features with a distinct design compared to the Pixel 9 series.

We expect more details about the Pixel 9a to surface online in the coming days.
