Facebook Dating is Facebook’s take on, you guessed it, dating. Facebook Dating is not an app but is a feature which resides within the Facebook mobile app and you need to be 18 or older to use it.
The feature is only available in five countries with another 14 added this week. Interestingly enough, the United States is not a part of these countries making the feature unusable in the country. Even so, Facebook has now added a new feature to the service called Secret Crush.
What is Secret Crush?
This week, Facebook added a new feature to the service called “Secret Crush.” The feature allows you to add up to nine friends you are romantically interested in. If one of those friends have opted into using Facebook Dating and likes you back, they get a notification saying someone likes them. In the case that both of you like each other, you both get notified.
The feature allows you to add any friend regardless if they have created a Dating profile or not. This feature could possibly make Facebook Dating more popular among some since, let’s be honest, who isn’t interested in knowing whether one of their friends secretly likes them?
Facebook Dating resembles Hinge rather than Tinder as users are required to answer questions and initiate conversations based on photos and etc. It combines with Facebook groups and events, enabling you to find a romantic partner both online and offline likewise.
