A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced that it was bringing Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to the Nintendo Switch as part of the mysterious Nintendo Switch Online+ subscription. Now, the company has finally revealed the price for the new subscription.

Announced today, the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription is dropping on October 25. The expanded service will cost $49.99 per year or $79.99 for a shared family membership.

This is a pretty significant increase over the original Switch Online membership. The original membership costs $19.99 a year for a single account or $34.99 for a shared family membership.

With Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you get all of the benefits that are included in the standard service, like online multiplayer, cloud saving, and access to NES and SNES games on your Switch.

But Switch Online+ is stepping it up a bit, bringing several classic N64 and Genesis games to the service at launch. Amazing classics like Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, and more are coming with the service at launch, with more planned for the future.

There are also some classic Genesis games like Sonic, and Animal Crossing owners will get the Happy Home Designer DLC, as well.

This new subscription service from Nintendo is super exciting. The handheld console provides great potential for gamers to enjoy some of their favorite classics right in the palm of their hands. Soon you’ll finally be able to become Link again and explore the wonders of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time right there on your Switch.
