Switch owners can now download the latest software version, as long as they have an internet connection. The update brings along a lot of fun features like video capture and support to transfer game and profile data.
For those who have more than one Switch console in their home and having trouble transferring data, Nintendo has you covered. It it also helpful for friends who come over and want to play their saves on your console. It isn’t that cut and dry because to transfer data you need to have both Switch consoles in hand. Along with this, the data you moved will no longer be available on your original console. Bummer, I know. You can read the guide Nintendo provided on how to properly transfer data here.
Nintendo has also finally implemented video capture software so you can share those epic moments with your peers. You can record, edit, and share clips via Facebook and Twitter. These clips only last up to 30 seconds and work with select games. The games that support video capture are ARMS, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 2.
It seems like Nintendo is trying to listen to customer’s feedback, and for that, they get an A for effort.
