The Samsung Galaxy A35 is a new mid-range smartphone from the company, with a 6.6-inch full HD+ flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, octa-core Exynos 1380 SoC, and 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. You also get a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro camera, with a 13MP front camera.
- The Galaxy A35 offers a solid value for $400, making it a new mid-range phone to consider.
- 5000mAh battery is likely to result in a solid battery life
- The hardware, especially camera hardware, looks promising for a mid-ranger.
- Fun and peppy color options available.
In March, Samsung launched its mid-range phones, the Galaxy A35 5G and A55 5G, in several markets. However, North America was absent from the launch regions.
While Samsung later officially disclosed that the Galaxy A55 5G will not be available in the States, the Korean company has now officially launched the less expensive Galaxy A35 5G, in the United States.
Samsung Galaxy A35 5G design, display and colors
The Galaxy A35 5G is available in four vibrant color schemes: Awesome Lilac, Awesome Navy, Awesome Lemon, and Awesome Ice Blue.
On the display side, the A35 5G offers a 6.6-inch full HD+ flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a center-aligned punch-hole camera on the top.
On the back, you will find a vertically aligned triple camera setup, similar to what you have seen on premium Galaxy S handsets.
Based on the display specs, it’s the same as last year’s Galaxy A34. However, Samsung has added something called a Vision Booster mode to improve the visuals, which is advertised to provide clear visibility regardless of the environment.
Samsung Galaxy A35 5G specs and features
For the most important part, the Galaxy A35 5G is powered by the octa-core Exynos 1380 SoC under the hood, leaving behind the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC that powered last year’s model.
However, we are unsure if the Exynos chip will show up on the A35 5G variant Samsung is selling in the States, as it is not specified on the company’s page.
The octa-core processor is coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.
On the camera side, the triple camera setup on the back includes a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, a 13MP sensor covers the front.
Overall, it’s pretty much the same, except for the primary camera, which got a nice bump from last year’s.
Besides the new primary camera, Samsung has added some new camera features: optical image stabilization, Night Portrait mode, 12-bit HDR, and video digital image stabilization.
The Galaxy A35 5G is powered by a whopping 5,000mAh battery, with up to 25W wired charging support.
Among the notable additional features, the A35 5G is IP67-rated and is the first Galaxy A series handset to get Samsung Knox Vault security. This multi-layered security platform protects hardware and software from vulnerabilities.
