PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controller support coming to Apple TV

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference for 2019 is underway and one of the first things of note to come from the event is the addition of new controller support for Apple TV.

Controller support is part of Apple’s updated tvOS that includes new screens and multi-user support.

Controller compatibility on Apple TV

With Apple Arcade coming soon, the upcoming functionality adds more than just the ability to navigate your Apple TV with a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controller.

As some who plays a lot of games, third-party controllers rarely meet the quality of a good first-party controller, so knowing that I’ll be able to play a variety of games in Apple Arcade with my trusty PS4 controller is nice.

There’s plenty more being discussed at Apple’s WWDC keynote today, so make sure to keep an eye on this space as we continue to report news regarding Apple, iOS 13, Apple Watch, and more.
