The very first step involves removing the battery cover. It’s also the trickiest one as it varies from model to model.

For Chamberlain 740CB or 66LM keypads

To replace the battery on this keypad, you’ll need a small Phillips head screwdriver and a 9V battery.

Open the cover

Unscrew the screw holding the battery door cover on and slide the cover down.

Swap the battery

Remove the old battery and replace it with a fresh one.

Fasten things up again

Slide the cover back on and fasten the screw to keep it in place.

Chamberlain 940CB, 976LM, and 376LM keypads

To change the battery in these, you’ll need a small Phillips screwdriver with a thin shaft and a 9V battery.

Open the cover
