OnePlus’s next flagship, the OnePlus 13, was rumored to be launched early, not following its usual December launch window.
Now, a top OnePlus executive has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will debut in China next month. It will feature the latest high-end mobile processor.
OnePlus China’s president, Louise Lee, recently announced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the OnePlus 13 is set to launch this October.
OnePlus 13 is launching early to monopolize Qualcomm’s next powerhouse chip
Although OnePlus was rumored to launch earlier, an October launch in China is totally unexpected. However, the juicy details didn’t stop at the launch window.
According to a machine-translated version of the post by Louise Lee on Weibo, the OnePlus 13 will sport the latest flagship processor, from the team behind cutting-edge custom-designed PC chips.
This means the device would have a new dual-core setup, setting the new industry standard and leaving the competition behind.
The chip in question is likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is set to launch in October. So, OnePlus 13 will likely be one of the first smartphones to flaunt this upcoming powerhouse.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is rumored to be way ahead of its predecessors due to the use of custom Oryon CPU cores, the same tech used on the latest Snapdragon X PC chips.
According to Lee, the OnePlus 13 will be able to run the graphically demanding Genshin Impact with ease at 120 FPS, which will be a tremendous achievement.
In addition, previous rumors suggest that the OnePlus 13 will also up its game in the camera department with three 50MP sensors on its back.
Rumors also abound about a whopping 6,000 mAh battery, a revamped camera design, and a huge 6.8-inch 2K screen.
We still don’t have the final specs, but the good news is that we won’t have to wait long to find out.
