Quick Answer: To reset most Blink cameras, you have to reset the Sync Module. The Mini has its own reset button.

Is your Blink camera acting up? You’ve set it all up correctly, but something just isn’t quite right.

If you’ve found yourself in a pickle with connectivity, motion detection, or camera registration, you’re not alone. Like all smart devices, they aren’t immune to glitches or bugs.

A factory reset is sometimes all you need to restore your Blink camera to optimal functionality. You’ll have your cameras streaming video again in no time at all.

We’ll show you what you need to do.

Here’s how to reset most Blink cameras

Reset the Sync Module

Turn your Sync Module over to get to the reset button. It’s on the edge nearest to the power socket.

Reset the module

Press and hold the reset button until the LED on the front flashes red. You might need something small to help, as the button is tiny.

Wait for it to reboot

Release the button and wait. You’ll know when to proceed as blue and green LED lights will blink instead of the red one.

Remove the Sync Module from your account

Once reset, the Sync Module will be in setup mode. Before you can use it again, you have to remove it from your account.

Open the app

Open the Blink app and tap on the Sync Module section at the very bottom.

Delete the module

Tap the red Delete Sync Module button. Confirm the deletion when asked.

Scan the QR code

You’ll have to scan the QR code on the back of the module to delete it. Then confirm again when asked.

Once you’ve completed these steps, the Sync Module and connected cameras will be reset and removed from your Blink app.

To use your cameras again, you’ll need to relink your Sync Module and cameras to your account.

How to reset Blink Mini cameras

Here’s what to do.

  1. Check the Blink Mini camera is powered on.
  1. Press and hold the reset button on the camera for about ten seconds.
  1. You can let go when you see the LED blinking blue, which means the camera has been reset.

That’s it. Your Blink Mini camera is back to its default settings. You can now proceed with setting it up as a new camera in your Blink system or connecting it to a different Wi-Fi network if needed.

Sometimes, the only way to fix things is with a reset

Resetting your Blink camera is a quick and simple way to clear any glitches caused by mismatched settings or failed updates.

It can also fix issues with motion detection not working, Wi-Fi connectivity issues, or other unwanted behavior.

And as you have seen, it’s a trivial task (as long as you can reach your cameras).
