Elon Musk continues slander of Thai cave rescuer, calling him a “child rapist” and daring him to sue

In a pair of vitriol-filled emails sent to Buzzfeed reporter Ryan Mac yesterday, Elon Musk once again resumed his baffling attack on Vernon Unsworth, calling the British caver who aided in the rescue of a Thai football team a “child rapist.”

“I suggest that you call people you know in Thailand, find out what’s actually going on and stop defending child rapists, you fucking asshole,” wrote Musk in the first message, citing the book-closing evidence of pure speculation as his primary source.

He’s an old, single white guy from England who’s been traveling to or living in Thailand for 30 to 40 years, mostly Pattaya Beach, until moving to Chiang Rai for a child bride who was about 12 years old at the time. As for this alleged threat of a lawsuit, which magically appeared when I raised the issue (nothing was sent or raised beforehand), I fucking hope he sues me.

The lawsuit Musk mentions stems from the first time he leveled baseless accusations at Unsworth following the highly publicized rescue back in July, calling the diver a “pedo” after politely being told to stick his self-aggrandizing attempt at a rescue submarine where the sun doesn’t shine. While Musk later issued the weakest of weak apologies to Unsworth for his choice of words, it would appear that the Tesla CEO is back on his bullshit, to borrow a phrase from at least 2016.

Though Musk prefaced one of his emails as being “off the record”, the condition was never agreed to by Mac as it must, per common journalistic practice. In other words, the guy who spends his days lambasting Twitter critics for not doing their research…failed to do his research. And Twitter is having a field day:

How will Elon Musk talk his way out of this one, you ask? My guess is the old Ambien Defense™. He’s already revealed that the pressures of being a totally awesome billionaire who’s right all the time is keeping him up at night, to the point that he’s been found sleeping under desks around Tesla HQ in recent weeks.

Only a genius of Musk’s insurmountable magnastiness would have watched (pardon me, researched) enough Law & Order episodes to know that “not guilty by reason of temporary insanity” is the most bulletproof defense out there for any kind of litigation. It’s the perfect defense, which plays perfectly against the fact that Musk has absolutely zero evidence to back his claims.

Considering the rumors swirling that Tesla shareholders are trying to oust Musk from his chairman position largely because of his recent rants, he might want to consider sitting these next few plays out.
