Samsung smartphones are renowned for their exceptional design, great cameras, and user-friendly interface. However, one area where they have fallen behind is fast charging.

For example, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series, including the S23 Plus and S23 Ultra, only supports 45W wired charging.

While not terrible initially, it’s worth noting that in today’s market, where smartphones with 24W super-fast charging are available, a flagship device offering only 45W charging falls short.

Even a 240W super-fast charging option remains uncommon, making it clear that Samsung is due for an upgrade.

When compared to other smartphones, Samsung finds itself trailing behind Google and Apple. However, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra with upgraded 65W fast-charging

According to a tweet by well-known tipster RGcloudS, Samsung may be working on an upgrade that could be released as soon as next year.

The rumored Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Plus could feature a brand-new stacked battery design, similar to what is seen in electric vehicles.

The new battery is currently in development and, according to the source, could potentially allow Samsung to offer faster 65W wired charging.

Samsung’s new stacked battery design is the most interesting feature, despite 65W fast charging not being particularly innovative compared to other brands. speeds.

This design has the potential to increase energy density, allowing for increased battery capacity without enlarging the battery size. Additionally, battery cycle life and performance can also be improved while reducing the cost of production.

The rumor is quite interesting. Last year, a report from The Elec mentioned that Samsung was interested in using stacked batteries for smartphones.

According to RGcloudS, the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra and S24 Plus will have 5,000mAh batteries. The “Ultra” version will also have additional cooling technology for better stability.

Unfortunately, it seems that the standard Galaxy S24 may not have the stacked battery. It might be limited to either 25W wired charging or the existing 45W charging technology.

However, it’s important to take this news with a grain of salt. It may or may not become a reality next year.
