Nothing’s first smartwatch to come in 2023, but under a sub-brand

CMF by Nothing is the company’s new sub-brand.

New CMF by Nothing, a new sub-brand

The London-based tech brand Nothing is known for its earbuds and smartphones with unique transparent designs. After successfully launching its second Android smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2, the company is expanding its portfolio with a sub-brand.

According to the company’s CEO, Carl Pei, the new Nothing sub-brand will be called CMF by Nothing. It will be focused on more budget-friendly products to reach more consumers. The first product from this sub-brand is expected to launch by the end of 2023.

Earbuds and smartwatch from CMF by Nothing coming soon

Nothing CEO Carl Pei recently addressed the public via the Nothing Q2 Community Update, where Pei discussed various topics, including the most recent Nothing Phone 2 launch, the Nothing Community, and of course, the new sub-brand, CMF by Nothing.

According to the announcement, Nothing’s new sub-brand will be “a new range of products that makes better design more accessible to a wider group of consumers.”

Carl Pei wants to bridge the gap between high-end and budget tech products, and apparently, CMF by Nothing is the way to do it. The sub-brand is expected to launch two new products later this year. However, no specific release dates were announced.

According to the announcement, CMF by Nothing’s first two products will be a new pair of earbuds and a smartwatch.

Early in the year, a leak revealed weirdly shaped earbuds from a company called “Particles by XO.” Particles by XO was rumored to be Nothing’s new sub-brand.

So at the moment, we are quite uncertain about what happened to Particles by XO. However, we suspect that the company just changed its name, and now it’s known as CMF by Nothing.

We could be wrong about it, but it’s our best working theory. That said, outside of the announced details, we don’t know anything about the upcoming earbuds and smartwatch from CMF by Nothing. However, Nothing says new information will arrive in the coming months, so stay tuned.
