Google Pixel 8A is set to be a strong contender for 2024’s best mid-range Android handsets. This year’s Pixel A series is rumored to land with a few upgrades, among them a larger battery and 27W wired charging speed were the most notable ones.

Now, another Pixel 8A leak has appeared in the wild with real-world images, delivering a satisfying look at the new rounded design language, and somewhat disappointing thick bezels.

TechDroider has shared two images on its X/Twitter account of what seems to be the real-world images of the unreleased Pixel 8A.

While the source of these images is known, the image reinforces the previous rumors of the rounded design language that Google adopted with the Pixel 8 series.

However, the interesting new titbit is the new matte-finished back panel, which is a total departure from Pixel 7A’s glossy back.

The images also showcase the rumored 6.1-inch display of the Pixel 8A. However, some X/Twitter users were fixated on the huge bottom bezel of the handset.

In retrospect, it’s nothing new and lines up with previous Pixel A series handsets.

However, the biggest upgrade to the display this year is the fresh rate, which is rumored to be 120Hz

While there was nothing more to learn from the leaked images, the 8A is expected to land with Google’s Tensor G3 processor and retain the same dual-camera setup as the Pixel 7A.

Overall, the Google Pixel 8A is shaping up to be another excellent addition to Google’s mid-range line, with a slightly larger battery, considerably higher wired charging speed, a display with a high refresh rate, and a matte-finished back, although that’s a personal preference.

Google is expected to announce the Pixel 8A at the company’s upcoming developer’s conference, Google I/O 2024, slated for May 14th.
