In the world of endless Zoom meetings and the constant battle to find a quiet corner in your own home, Kensington has decided to throw us a bone by launching the MK7500F QuietType Pro Silent Mechanical Keyboard.

The QuietType Pro is an ambitious attempt to marry the tactile benefits of a mechanical keyboard with the quiet typing experience of a membrane keyboard.

It’s designed for the modern professional, who apparently needs to type like a ninja while also enjoying the feel of a good old mechanical keyboard.

The keyboard’s main selling point is its QuietType keys, which the company claims are supposedly 15db quieter than a traditional mechanical keyboard.

The secret sauce? Through the use of Kailh Midnight Pro Silent Tactile switches and sound-dampening pads. It lets you type away freely during endless Zoom meetings without being ‘that’ noisy coworker.

It’s more than just a keyboard

The MK7500F also boasts multiple connection options. You can connect up to five devices, three via Bluetooth, one using the included 2.4GHz USB receiver, and one using the included USB-A cable.

And if you’re worried about security, don’t be. This keyboard offers 128-bit AES government-grade encryption security. Because, of course, we all have top-secret information that needs such high-level protection.

Design-wise, the MK7500F features a full-size aluminum frame, high-quality laser-etched ABS keycaps, and an ergonomic, spill-proof design. It even comes with dual-position feet and a gel wrist rest pad.

Bonus features

This keyboard is fully customizable, with built-in meeting controls, adjustable white backlight, and the ability to program keys and create macros with its Kensington Konnect app. Because what’s a keyboard without a little over-the-top customization?

So, there you have it. The MK7500F QuietType Pro Silent Mechanical Keyboard is here, and it’s available for $199.99 via Amazon or the company’s website.
