A mysterious Samsung smartwatch, model number SM-R861, recently stirred up the rumor mill after it hit the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).
It’s speculated to be the newest addition to Samsung’s Galaxy FE line, the Galaxy Watch FE.
Samsung launched its Galaxy FE line with the Galaxy S20 FE in 2020, which created quite a buzz as it was the first Galaxy phone to offer near-flagship hardware at a lower price.
Starting in 2023, Samsung expanded its Galaxy FE line to include two tablets (Galaxy Tab S9 FE and FE Plus) and the Galaxy Buds FE.
Now, it looks like another Galaxy FE product, the Galaxy Watch FE, is on the way, with the latest leak confirming its imminent launch.
A leaker, Sudhanshu Ambhore, shared images of the alleged Galaxy Watch FE on his X/Twitter account, showcasing Samsung’s upcoming budget smartwatch for the first time.
Based on the renders, the Galaxy Watch FE looks way too similar to the Galaxy Watch 4. The smartwatch has been showcased in black, pink, and light blue color schemes.
Besides the colorful images, the leaker revealed that the Galaxy Watch FE could feature a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen and a 247mAh battery, potentially offering around 30 hours of battery life.
In addition, the smartwatch is believed to pack an Exynos W920 chip, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It is also rumored to come with One UI Watch 5.0.
Galaxy Watch FE rumored to cost $213
The Galaxy Watch FE leak doesn’t just end there. Popular tipster Arsene Lupin has posted another set of leaks that shows Samsung will run a promotion for the device.
The promotion is in a different language. However, a rough translation says, “Receive a Galaxy Watch FE with the purchase of a Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, or S24 Ultra associated with an Orange or VOO subscription.”
The promotion is apparently going to run until June 30, 2024. An Italian retailer has already listed the device, with the site pricing it at $234. However, the leaker suggests it will be sold for $213.
With conflicting information, we’ll have to wait for the launch event, rumored for July 10, to get the official details.
