New leak reveals iPhone 16 battery capacity, with a twist

The iPhone 16 leaks and rumors are piling up slowly but steadily as we inch closer to the launch. The latest leak blurts out the battery capacity of all four unreleased iPhone 16 models, but there’s a surprising twist. 

The iPhone 16 leaks have grown steadily in the past month. We have seen the dummy unit images of all four models, highlighting the changes. The previously exclusive Action button, available only on the iPhone Pro models, is coming to the standard iPhone 16 models.

And there’s a new Capture button, which will also be available for all four models. 

A new leak has appeared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. It was posted by the user OvO Baby Sauce OvO and first spotted by the folks at MacRumors. 

In the post, the leaker revealed the battery capacity of all the unreleased iPhone 16 models.

While it all looks promising, not all iPhones in the 16 series are getting a larger battery. 

Only the iPhone 16 Plus’s battery size is downsized to 4,006 mAh, 9% smaller than its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Plus’s 4,383 mAh capacity.

However, we are unsure why this discrimination is set only for the 16 Plus variant and not others, and the leaker has also failed to clarify the matter. 

Either way, it seems the iPhone Plus model fans may get disappointed this year regarding the battery life. 

However, we are also unsure about the validity of this leak. The tipster who revealed it is relatively new and doesn’t even have a track record to check.  

So, let’s not take anything for granted until more credible information appears, which may be pretty soon – the new iPhones aren’t expected until September 2024.
