The Samsung Bluetooth tracker rumor mill is on a continuous spin. Recently, we saw a leaked image of Samsung’s so-called Galaxy SmartTag 2, and it also appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website. Now we have more details and a launch window.
Galaxy SmartTag 2 is coming later in 2023
UK tech retailer Mobile Fun broke this new report regarding Samsung’s new Galaxy SmartTag 2. According to the blog post, the new bluetooth tracker will be available in two colorways — Black and White.
The UK tech retailer has also provided two official-looking renders of the tracker that match up with the previous leaked images of the device.
The retailer has also specified numerous details about the upcoming Galaxy SmartTag 2, most of which are already known, like built-in ultra-wideband (UWB) support and likely support for Android’s Find My Device network.
Mobile Fun has also revealed the pre-order pricing for the tracker, which it claims will be £42.99, equivalent to $54. The original Galaxy SmartTag had landed in the US with an MSRP of $29.99.
So, be sure to take this information with a grain of salt. The new info does not indicate the Bluetooth tracker’s US MSRP, nor does it mean the tracker will be sold in the US for over $50. New and more concrete pricing will likely appear in the coming weeks.
The new leak also states the Galaxy SmartTag 2 will be released in October 2023. So, if this is accurate, we can expect the same launch window for the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. However, Samsung could also choose to launch this device separately.
