In the past free weeks, the Google Pixel 8A has seen a steady stream of leaks, and this week has also been no different.
Today’s leak shows a live image of the unreleased Google Pixel 8A. However, this isn’t the first 8A live image that has gone wild on the internet, but it sure is the clearest one.
Before this, we have seen multiple clear renders of the Pixel 8A, without any watermarks, showcasing the handset in four color schemes.
Today’s image, revealed by DroidReader, shows the first clear image of two Pixel 8A handsets and their respective retail boxes.
In addition, the leaker MysteryLupin, who shared the recent Pixel 8A renders, has shared a video on his X/Twitter account showcasing the box contents of those same units and listing the selling price in Moroccan Dirhams.
Pixel 8A live images reveal a darker shade
The image shared by DroidReader and the video posted by MysteryLupin shows two Google Pixel 8A handsets with what looks like frosted back panels in Blue and Green color schemes.
The colors will likely be officially named “Bay” and “Mint.” However, they look surprisingly different from similarly named options on last year’s Pixel 8 series.
Google generally uses a light color tone for the Pixel, but the company seems to have taken a different direction for the Pixel 8A. At least, that is what we are assuming from the leaked image and video.

Based on both the image and the video, the handsets have a darker shade. The “Bay” color seems especially intense—very different from previous “Bay” iterations Google released.
However, the “Mint” color is the clear winner. It is also different from the previous iterations, but it is still soothing to the eyes.
The video also shows the box contents; if you have used a Pixel before, there’s nothing surprising. You will find the same type-C to type-C USB cable and a USB-A to USB-C converter.
Moroccan pricing for the Pixel 8A also revealed

Most interestingly, the video reveals the retail price of the Pixel 8A in Morocco, which, after the conversion, is about $470.
Google raised the price of its Pixel A series smartphones from $450 to $500 last year, making Pixel 7A barely fit the mid-range category.
On the other hand, the Pixel 8A this year is rumored to get a more powerful Tensor G3 processor, a refresh rate bumped up to 120hz, a slightly larger battery, and a whopping 27W charging speed.
A 27W charging speed is nothing to boast about in 2024 but it is for Pixel A users.
However, all these upgrades led several outlets to conclude that Google is increasing the price again with the Pixel 8A.
While there is a possibility that the prediction may be accurate, at least the latest video leak shows it may not be happening.
Although there is still a cloud of doubt, we don’t have to wait long for clarity. Google is rumored to announce the Pixel 8A at its 2024 I/O event, which begins on May 14.
