OnePlus’s first book-style foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, recently suffered a setback. OnePlus apparently decided to switch its display manufacturer at the last moment, and according to the latest leaks, it seems to be a step in the right direction.
However, a new leak indicates OnePlus Open will be available in only two colorways — Black and Green, continuing the trend of OnePlus’s past three flagship smartphones.
Only black and green for the OnePlus Open!
According to frequent leaker Max Jambor’s post on X, formerly Twitter, the OnePlus Open is ready to ship in two colorways — Black and Green.
Jambor has also clarified the color options will be called Voyage Black and Emerald Eclipse, which are basically the Black and Green variants.
The two colorways look absolutely great and we have no complaints. But it looks like OnePlus has settled on these two colors in recent years.
If we look back, 2022’s OnePlus 10 Pro featured the same colorways, and the same is true for the OnePlus 10T, released later that year.
The OnePlus 11 continued the trend in 2023. Even the latest OnePlus Pad was launched in Green. It seems “Green” has become the go-to color for OnePlus.
Initially, OnePlus was known for its diverse color choices, but the Green color has been a staple for the company for quite a few years now. It will be clear if you look at the OnePlus launches for the past few years.
- OnePlus 11: Black, Green
- OnePlus 10T: Black, Green
- OnePlus 10 Pro: Black, Green
- OnePlus 9 Pro: Silver, Green, Black
- OnePlus 9: Black, Purple, Blue
- OnePlus 8 Pro: Black, Green, Blue
- OnePlus 8: Black, Interstellar Glow, Green
- OnePlus 7T: Blue, Grey
- OnePlus 7/Pro: Black, Almond, Blue
That said, OnePlus could introduce new colors later in the launch cycle, and the company has done this for the past flagships. However, we are skeptical about it.
Jambor has also confirmed that the OnePlus Open will be sold globally, similar to Samsung’s recent Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Either way, if you have a love for black and green, the OnePlus Open’s look should be right up your alley.
