Skechers’ new shoes feature a hidden AirTag slot to track your kids
Skechers is revolutionizing peace of mind with their “Find My Skechers” line, featuring a stealthy AirTag chamber in the sole to keep tabs on your little adventurer.

You know that gut-churning moment when your kid disappears around the corner at the park, and you briefly consider wrapping them in bubble wrap or slapping a GPS tracker on them?
Skechers gets it, and they’re not judging. They’re leaning in hard with their new “Find My Skechers” line—a collection of kids’ sneakers that come with a secret twist: a built-in, hidden chamber in the sole designed to hold an Apple AirTag.
Here’s the pitch: under the insole, beneath a webbed fabric liner, you’ll find a plastic compartment that’s recessed right into the cushioned midsole.

It’s not just a slip-and-slide slot, either; Skechers went the extra mile with a screw-down lid, so your “curious” toddler can’t just pop it open.
If you’re a parent who’s ever watched their kid swallow a penny or try to feed a Lego to the dog, you’ll appreciate the attention to detail.
And yes, the AirTag’s wireless signal isn’t blocked, so you can see where your kid (or at least their shoes) are via Apple’s Find My app, with zero fuss.
According to The Verge, the shoes come in several styles and colors, for feet ranging from toddlers to eight-year-olds. Priced in the $52–$58 range—not outrageous for kids’ shoes with a little James Bond energy—they’re also machine washable, though you’ll want to remove the AirTag first unless you enjoy living dangerously.
And in a move clearly aimed at the “stranger danger” crowd, there’s no external branding to tip off would-be thieves (or nosy classmates) that these shoes are trackable. They look like any other pair of Skechers on the playground, which is exactly the point.
There’s already a cottage industry of AirTag holders and accessories—clips, bands, even dog collar attachments—but most aren’t exactly built for the chaos of kid life.
Drop an AirTag in a backpack, and it might wind up in the lost-and-found or the sandbox. Skechers’ “hide it in the shoe” method is way sneakier and, for parents, a lot more reassuring.
Of course, not everyone’s thrilled. Some parents are skeptical about the whole “track your kid 24/7” concept, and the usual privacy concerns are in play. But if you’re the type who’s ever found yourself frantically running around Chuck E. Cheese, shoes like these might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
Bottom line: Skechers’ new kicks are like regular kids’ sneakers, only with a secret compartment for your peace of mind.
Whether that’s genius or mildly dystopian? That’s up to you. But if your kid’s shoes ever go missing, at least now you’ll know exactly where they’ve run off to. Learn more at Skechers.
