Galaxy Z Fold 6 may get the same cameras as Z Fold 4 and 5

Samsung is rumored to unveil the next iteration of its book-style foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which will apparently happen slightly earlier this year, in early July. 

In the meantime, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 leaks have started flooding in. While leaks have shown Samsung is working on a wider design for the unreleased Z Fold 6, a few leaks have revealed depressingly little hardware upgrades. 

Even the latest leak by the top tipster Ice Universe states that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have the same camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 5. 

This means the upcoming book-style Samsung foldable handset will feature the same camera sensors as the 2022 Galaxy Z Fold 4, as the company never did upgrade it for the 2023 Z Fold 5.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 camera hardware is disappointing, to say the least

If the leak is accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera on its back.

This only leaves the front cameras, and according to Ice Universe, the 4MP under-display camera on the inner, folding screen also won’t change, Which is even more disappointing as that camera hasn’t changed since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, launched in 2021. 

In hindsight, Samsung may still try to improve the camera quality with software tweaks, but that won’t be anything significant and nothing to boast about.  

In light of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra rumors, Samsung may be betting all on the new, more premium foldable smartphone it is developing for its home country, which would presumably sport better cameras.   

However, the specifics of that “Ultra” Z Fold 6 are still unknown. 

Either way, the launch is supposedly in a few months, in early July and we may be privy to more information in the coming months.
